Love With Food

I love getting packages in the mail. I'm like a little kid on Christmas morning, excited to see what's under the wrapping. Granted, most of the time it's items I've purchased for myself, but there's just so much excitement that comes from opening a box with your name on it.

I can't be alone in this. I think it's why there is a growing number of monthly subscription boxes available these days. Boxes for cosmetics, clothes, wine, bow-ties. Last month I heard about the Love With Food box for the first time, with a discount offer for a free box. I was a little skeptical about what items I'd find in my box though. Healthy and organic is the description on the website for their foods so I was worried I'd end up with some "quinoa bites" or "organic fruit chews" that taste like cardboard.

I was willing to give it a try when I learned that there was a mission behind the box. Not only are you getting a bunch of new foods to try, but for every monthly box you purchase, you're providing a free meal to a hungry child in the U.S. I can justify spending an additional $10 per month on groceries when you factor in that you're doing some good with your purchase.

For the most part, everything was delicious. The snack sizes were also perfect for my hectic work week that I had; while running between events, it was easy to pack the Luna bar or hummus and chips into my purse to keep me going. If you're looking for an easy and inexpensive way to try new healthy foods, with the added bonus of doing some good for the hungry kids in your own community, then I definitely recommend trying out a Love With Food Box.
